* If the two tone option is selected, please specify which parts of the case are to be painted with each color. It is okay to specify the parts for one color with the assumption that the remaining parts are to be the other color.
* The Merlin Pedestal design allows them to be mounted on top of or underneath the case. They are stackable as well. When mounting above, the case will need to be taken apart.

It will put a smile from ear to ear on your face!

I really can't fully explain my feelings about my SM8, at least without sounding like an overly enthusiastic little kid!! Just like the title, it literally put a huge grin on my face the moment I opened the box and still does even weeks later after ive finished my build. The quality, style, modularity and customization, accessibility and provisions are of the absolute utmost appraisal. Just the feel of the powder coat finish, the superb two tone paintjob provided exactly how i asked, and the weight in perfect balance from all aluminum construction make the case boast convenience combined with durability perfected. it truly is one of a kind. You purchase this, and you will never need another case again, GAURANTEED!
For my planned build, the complexity of my cooling system was very high, and throughout the process my plans were constantly changed and many unexpected problems arose. With a normal case, this would have created delay after delay, and constant frustration... But due to the insane level of customization and features of Caselabs, I was able to just "go with the flow!" Power supply in the way? no problem. Had a coolant leak? no problem. Not enough cable or storage space? no problem!! its awesome!!
Id also like to mention their customer support was also outstanding as well. KC swiftly and speedily answered and even encouraged every question I had as they truly desired my full satisfaction.
Seriously, if you are even remotely considering ANY Caselabs case, BUY IT! You will not regret it.
Excellent case !

This is the best case I have ever owned (and the first Case Labs one !, I owned up to now mostly Cooler Master and Lian Li cases...). Manufacturing is incredibly precise and mouting the case is flawless, (shipped flat-packed, I mounted the SM8 in maybe 1 hour, assembly guide is very clear with many pictures of each part). Doors could be a bit easier to open (on my mount, you need two hands to open a door). Apart from that (but you don't open your case doors very day), everything else is perfect. Space and cooling is incredible and even more since you install flex bays and device mounts only where you need them... Case is of course very modular and offers many configuration options, especially for fan and radiator placement. Finally, support is very professional.

People must think these review are from CASELABS employee and owner relatives. I mean, there is NO way that I could write a review without 5 starts for this case. I bought the Matte White / Black interior and WOW... just amazing quality. I almost had more fun assembling the case than I did the system.
It's perfect for custom water loops and there are so many configurations. For example I originally ordered the case as inverted (upside down mobo) and I really wanted that to work, but I just couldnt get past some of the challenges I had with my own gear. So I just flipped it to a traditional layout. I had no idea I could do that until I started looking at it and notices that everything was standard. PERFECT!! Because when I want to rebuild the system and upgrade/change out my rig, I have the option to flip the case again to inverted.... what other cases can do that??!!
I am SUPER stoked with this case... These cases are like thier own little system, an erector set with style and purpose!
Pre-sales service was phenomenal. I got answers on the same day, usually within hours. They had a question for me and it still didn't delay the order.
I only hope they never get too much bigger so that this boutique level of quality and service never gets watered down.

Great build quality and lots of room and flexibility. I got the geezer paint job- black exterior. White interior ( as you get older, it is harder to see in low light conditions, particularly against a black background).
I'm not so sure...

...that there is a better case in production from a quality standpoint. Now, many folks are not in love with the industrial look and feel of Caselabs, and I suspect that once they have the resources, they will blow us away with fancier case styles.
But even if they don't, they will a have a legacy UNMACHED by anyone in the case market.
SM8 Water Coolers Dream

Caselabs SM8 is a fantastic case. Love the design. Easy to put together. You have many options with this case. For me I bought it specifically for watercooling. Getting that 60mm thick 480 in the top in push/pull sold me straight away. But also having the option with the 360 flex bay option was the icing on the cake. Great case, well worth the international shipping to Australia.
last case you'll ever buy

you'll forget about the price seconds after opening the box. every complaint I've had about other cases through the years seems to have been addressed here, specifically:
My only complaint would be the snap-in style top/front panel mounts, several of which were worn/damaged on arrival. they include half a dozen spares and are easily replaceable so its a non-issue for me.
I'd like to see caselab's take on hotswap or rail-type bay mounts as well, but I realize most people will be using rads in the front anyway, so thats probably just a pipedream.
High-end housing on top!

with a case like merlin SM8 it offers a very good chassis, sufficient ventilation and quiet, lots of space and integrations that are more than interesting and above all possibilities. In short, a very good case!
It doesn't get better than this

As soon as you open the box you can tell this is it. And then, the more you work with it, the more you see the quality and thoughtful design not found in other cases. I got the white and finish is flawless. The way everything goes together and the versatility of how you arrange it is awesome. I've had several cases that were considered top of the line. This one costs a lot more but it's worth it. This was for a good horsepower, air-cooled build and the size vs. space is a perfect balance. The only ding I can come up with is one door latch that is looser than I would prefer but there were extras included and it's so minor that I haven't even bothered to try doing anything about it. Bottom line; you pay a lot but you get a lot and I consider it a worthwhile investment for quality, appearance, versatility and ease of access. I accidentally ordered the wrong top (so many options) and had to deal with customer service. Couldn't have been a better experience. I could have called but prefer email. Response was quick and all worked out great. Got RMA, returned the wrong part (my fault) and promptly had it exchanged for the right one and in my hands in no time. I started out a bit hesitant based on price but now that it's here and the build is done, I would do it all again. This is probably the last case I buy and no reason to expect that I will ever need another. Has the space and layout options to do whatever I may want to do with it.
2 words... awe some

I'm in the middle of building my 1rst water cooled computer (i've been building my own computers for about 15 years) and i was looking to get a case that would have the space to fit rads (1 240x120x60 and 1 360x120x80) and a pump/res that would'nt look too crowded inside. It took me a good while to find what i was looking for. I 1rst heard about CaseLabs by watching the Tiny Tom Logan review of the Magnum M8 case. After watching a couple more vids by him i got to watch the Merlin SM8 review. My search ended there.
I've been a welder/assembler for the past 12 years (specialized in aluminium and stainless steel) so i know about bending, precision and water/laser cutting. The manufacturing quality of the pieces are top notch and because of that its a breeze to put together.
I'd say that this case (and most CaseLabs cases if not all) are not meant for the "average" user, but for the enthusiast customer market its as good as it gets. You're not bothered with half empty drive bays (at best) and the way the hdd/ssd's are setup, it free's alot of space. For anyone looking to get a unique well built case with the space and configurability to do either air or water cooling, this is the case for you!
Only thing i'd change/do would be an optional removable screen filter to help with dust and put a note in the manual to install the hdd drives flush with the top of the mounts before bolting them in the case to have space to plug in the sata power connectors. The ssd's can be plugged in without any problem.
Also, i live in Canada and i've received this case in about 5 work days (if even that). Each piece are individually wrapped in thick plastic so there's little to no chance of scratching (from the shipping/handling anyways).
Not a cheap case but worth every penny!
