  1. Rock Solid Case

Posted by John Bartish on 20th May 2016

Both case assembly and component installations were extremely easy to do. I was surprised at how thick the aluminum was. Other brands are flimsy by comparison. Excellent paint job too. I thought I accidently scratched the case during assembly but as it turns out my concern was unfounded.

I like the separate motherboard tray because it allowed me to install the cpu, heatsink, memory and assorted motherboard cables with the tray outside the case. In addition, with the motherboard tray removed it is very easy to install other components such as case fans, fan controller, and an I/O panel.

There was only one very minor issue. The case does not come with a power supply mounting bracket. When the psu is attached to the rear panel the bottom of the psu does not rest on the bottom case panel. There is a bit of open space between the psu and the bottom case panel. Although the thick aluminum panels are strong enough to support a psu I decided to purchase a psu mounting bracket from the CaseLabs store.

Overall the Mercury S8 is an excellent case. I purchased my first pc in December 1984 and have been upgrading, building, and case modding ever since. I can honestly say this is the last case I will ever buy.

  2. Best Case I ever bought !

Hands-down one of the finest computer cases ever built . Took a little longer to receive but well worth the wait could not be happier . The paint job was flawless everything arrived as described . Assembly was very easy and very strong construction great job . Highly recommend it to anyone who wants a serious high-grade case .

  3. Flawless!

Posted by MartyG on 1st May 2016

As advised by CaseLabs (KC), my Mercury S8 arrived slightly beyond the advertised delivery time frame in an extra heavy duty cardboard box. Each sub assembly was wrapped in a heavy duty plastic bag. I checked each piece like it was a newborn. The "Gunmetal" finish on each was perfection and the assembly process revealed the fit was as good as the finish.
If you're looking for the best custom, USA made case for your next build look no further than CaseLabs.

  4. Sorry but Pleased

Posted by Patrick Lawson on 5th Feb 2016

I am, in way sorry that it is done but I am pleased with the result. If I could think of half of an excuse I would buy another Caselabs case just to do it again. My case is the one in the gallery under DominoBlu if you want to see some scruffy photos.
I cannot really add a whole lot to what others have said before me so I will keep this brief. The quality of the product is excellent. A lot of thinking has gone into its design. My problem was I was spoiled by choice when I say how many different approaches I could take to install my two separate loops. Customer service was also exemplary. En route to Scotland the shipping company managed to damage a couple of the major parts of my S8 and Pedestal. They were replaced ASAP without quibble. I can heartily recommend this company and their products.

  5. Excellent Case

Posted by Scott Harwell on 27th Dec 2015

This is my first CaseLabs case and I have been very impressed with both the quality of the product and the CaseLabs customer service. One of the parts arrived broken during delivery; KC ordered a replacement shipped that day. The case itself is incredibly roomy with plenty of space for even the largest water cooling builds. I am very impressed with the rigidity of the frame. Even a full speed, my DDC pump doesn't vibrate the chassis at all. You absolutely get what you pay for with a CaseLabs case!

  6. My first Case Labs case

Posted by Unknown on 16th Nov 2015

This has been 100% positive. I have been looking for a case upgrade for a while and this case has done it for me. The S8 is very spacy yet doesn't take up too much room vertically even with the pedestal. I love the ability to customize the slots in every caselab cases. This is now my goto place my cases.

The only thought I have is the ability to customize a bit more color.

  7. This may be the last case I ever own!!!

Posted by David C on 7th Nov 2015

The Mercury S8 is a perfect blend of style and functionality. All of their cases have almost 100% customization options, there is little you cannot change on this case. This case is perfect for air or water cooled builds. The horizontal mother board layout is awesome to work with as you never have to worry about GPU sag ever again. Load up your mother board with 4 graphics cards and never look back. The ability to work upwards rather than outwards when it comes to cables and tubing is also an awesome feature of this case. I have had nothing but fans in a total air cooled build and I have also had 4 radiators with 5 feet worth of soft tubing, so the ability to change your build needs is also a great feature.
Having said all of this the price of these cases can sky rocket depending on what types options you have so be prepared to spend some money but in the end you will be happy you did. This is one of those cases that you buy and you should never need to buy another one. I have changed all outer panels since my initial order and it changes the look of the case. Its like you bought a new case!! If you are ever contemplating a Caselabs purchase do yourself a favor and buy one. Just make sure you take your time and lay out all the options because to go back and make changes later can add up very quickly.
Keep up the great work Caselabs...well done and you have a customer for life.

  8. Best Case EVER!

Posted by WeirdHarold on 7th Nov 2015

So I'll start this by asking a question, have any of you bought a case thinking this is going to be great. Then it turns out not as great as you thought, it was hard to build in or was missing that little touch that would've make it great?? Well I've been down that road countless times, so I finally decided to pull the trigger and buy CaseLabs and I don't regret it at all. The S8 was the easiest case to build a system in ever, not to mention the possibilities on how you can configure it are practically endless. So if you're looking to buy a case and you've, like me looked at a CaseLabs case and said it's too expensive, stop looking at the price and instead look back at the last several cases and add up what you spent on them. On a side note I've never been huge on case mods because if you mess up it's not easy to fix what you messed up, not so with CaseLabs! Mod away, if you totally were to mess up a part you can easily order a replacement and it just bolts in.

  9. Great Case, worth the money

Posted by Felix on 11th Oct 2015

The case is great. Though it is expensive, if you consider the amount of money you will spend each year going for a new case, this is worth the spending. The building quality is top notch. I don't know if I will ever buy another case from a different manufacturer after my experience with Caselabs. I look forward to using this case for a very long time.

  10. Great case

Posted by Anton Cromas on 25th Sep 2015

Its a great case, came very well packaged with pretty decent manual on how to put it to gather, took me about 15-20 mins to assemble it.

I do have a few annoyances about the case though. At this price point I was expecting a side windows that made of REAL glass but sadly they were plastic (plexiglass).

Another annoyance is that to use 1000+ wat PSU you will need an optional bracket. . . It would have been nice if they made this fact known prior to purchase of the case or even better, include it with it. I doubt anyone will put 500wat PSU iin the case this big. . .
