The extremely popular MAGNUM SMA8 has gone through a significant upgrade and is more refined than ever. The new SMA8 “A” revision (SMA8-A) makes the build process more enjoyable, and more personalized than ever before!
New features include:
- New front I/O panel with USB 3.1 type C, HDMI, USB 3.0 and HD Audio
- New tempered glass windowed door panel
- New front cover options including a front mounted tempered glass window, and pure ventilation (neither have Flex-Bay openings, but are capable of mounting fans/radiators behind them, not to mention much easier to access and clean fans)
- Top 120.4 (480) radiator mount is now "drop-in"
- Bottom radiator mount installs from the outside (much easier to install). The mount is a 140.4 (560) mount by default and includes 120.4 (480) adapter rails
- Dual vertical video card mount, and single vertical video card mount options (riser cable(s) included).
- New cable management system with aluminum cable clamps
- Improved cable and tubing routing options with added tie-downs not visible from the motherboard chamber
- New included extra tall removable reservoir mount
- Added drive capacity (total of 4 x HDD mounts and 4 SSD mounts. 8 x SSDs can be used in place of the HDD mounts with adapters for a total of 12)
- Luminous mid-plate panel designed by Charles Harwood of Xforma.

How to order (see technical specs down the page)
Step one. Select case color: Black or Gunmetal. White is only available in limited runs. The order processing period will also be displayed beside the color.
Step two. Upgrade to Two Tone Internals: Black, Gunmetal, White, Red and Blue. This is used only if you desire a two tone case. It is not required to select, for example, black as the case color and black as the internal color. The following parts are considered "Internals"; Motherboard tray and backplate (not PCIE backplate), Motherboard tray guide rails, Chassis Divider, Reservoir Mount, HDD and SSD Cages (mounted on backside of Chassis Divider) and Cable Management Clamps (mounted on backside of Chassis Divider). We cannot allow substitutions of any type on two tone color schemes. Please see the following images which show black on the exterior, and all other colors on the interior (including black for reference).
Step three. Form Factor: ATX (EATX) or SSI-EEB. Choose the motherboard tray size for your build. The ATX option fits both standard ATX and EATX motherboards with a single processor. Motherboards which are listed as EATX but with two processors will require the SSI-EEB motherboard tray option. When opting for SSI-EEB form factor please note the reservoir mount size is decreased.
Step four. Orientation; Standard or Reverse. The standard orientation is most common, and locates the motherboard so it is visible from the left side of the case with the CPU above the GPUs. A reverse orientation locates the motherboard so it is visible from the the right side of the case. The motherboard tray is also inverted placing the GPUs above the CPU.
Step five. Case Bottom; Solid Floor with Ground Effects Lighting Mounts or Large Cut-Out with Removable Cover Plate. The Solid Floor with Ground Effects Lighting Mounts is a very sturdy option that better accommodates items being mounted to it (such as pumps). It of course is also included with LED lighting strip mounts which create a more unique look. The mounts allow for lighting up to 19.5" (50cm) long and are recessed. The Large Cut-Out with Removable Cover Plate option is great is you want even more access to the bottom of the case. The cover is made from thinner material so it is not ideal for mounting items to it. If plan on mounting a Pedestal under the case, and do not want to make your own pass-through holes, then the large cut-out option might be a good way to go. It is also worth mentioning that the bottom of the Pedestal and the bottom of the case share the same piece (they are interchangeable).
Step six. Motherboard Chamber Floor (mid-chassis): Solid or 120.3 fan holes with 5.25" device relief opening. Either style will work with the RGB Luminous Panel. Either style will also accommodate Flex-Bay fan/radiator mounts passing through the motherboard chamber into the lower chamber. The solid option is best if you are looking for a clean build, and plan on making your own pass-through holes for your specific build. Please understand due to varying requirements from build to build we cannot offer the mid-chassis with pre-drilled holes. We recommend using a step drill bit as they allow large holes to be made with a single bit in a standard sized drill. The 120.3 fan hole/5.25" device relief opening is ideal for the builder that doesn't want to drill their own holes, wants added fan mounts for cooling and/or a relief at the front for 5.25" bay devices such as hot swap drive bays or optical drives. The Bottom Accessory Mounts with Tubing Management is a great add-on for cleaner pass-throughs on the 120.3 fan holes.
Step seven. Motherboard Side Door. Choose from a solid door with no window, a XXL acrylic window or a XXL tempered glass window. The acrylic window and tempered glass window are have the same viewing size.
Step eight. Top Cover; Standard Ventilated, 39mm Extended Height Ventilated or 120mm Extended Height Ventilated. The standard top cover has just over .5" (13mm) of clearance from the top side of the top chassis to the inside of the top cover. The 39mm top cover has 1.5" (39mm) of clearance from the top side of the top chassis to the inside of the top cover. This is a great option if you want to mount fans inside the top leaving a little more room on the inside of the motherboard chamber, or to go "push/pull" with a 55-60mm thick radiator. The 120mm top cover has 4.7" (120mm) of clearance from the top side of the top chassis to the inside of the top cover. This is a great option if you want to mount a radiator under the top cover leaving the entire motherboard chamber open.
Step nine. Front Panel Style. There are 4 main types of front panel options; Ventilated, Tempered Glass Window or Flex-Bay Style with ventilated or solid bay covers. Within each of those options can you can select from various fan/radiator mounts. The Ventilated front cover is very clean and minimalist looking. It also makes accessing your fans/filters for cleaning easier than ever before. Please note filters are not included, but we do recommend the Silverstone filters or DEMCiflex. The Window front cover is a great way to give your build a unique look. Do be advised that air flow will be diminished, but some air can be pulled through the openings in the front cover. Like the ventilated front cover, accessing fans for cleaning is also much easier. Both the ventilated and window front cover are included with a 120/140mm fan mount that is best used at the bottom in the lower chamber. When selecting the larger 140.3 and 120.4 front fan/radiator mounts, the 120/140mm fan mount is removed as both cannot be used at once. It is worth mentioning that the 120.3 fan mount fits perfectly within the motherboard chamber which is nine 5.25 bays tall.
Lastly we have the Flex-Bay style front cover. This is our classic front cover that retains all of the of the 5.25 mounting options. There is also a choice for the bay covers to be solid or ventilated for aesthetic purposes or passive cooling (fans cannot be mounted to ventilated bay covers). The Flex-Bay style front cover does not come with the 120/140mm fan mount, but does come with 3 sets of Standard Flex-Bay Device Mounts and 1 set of Short Adjustable Flex-Bay Device Mounts.
The pictures below show each main option with a 120.3 mount. Images of other mounts with these covers can be found in the image gallery at the top of the page. These fan mounts can be moved up or down within the front panel.
Step ten. Motherboard Tray Style. Choose between a standard PCIE configuration with 8 PCIE slots, or a vertical PCIE configuration with 5 vertical PCIE slots. The standard 8 slot motherboard tray has a provision for a 2 slot vertical PCIE adapter with included riser cable. The 2 slot vertical PCIE adapter is not compatible while using liquid-cooled video cards, or tall cards, which are plugged directly into the motherboard (in standard slots). There is not enough clearance. The vertical 5 slot option comes with either 1 or 2 riser cables depending on which option is selected.
Step eleven. Front I/O Style; None, 2 x USB 3.0 and HD Audio or HDMI, USB 3.1 type C, USB 3.0 x 2 and HD Audio. This options allows you to choose what, if any, front I/O connections are desired. The HDMI port uses an extension cables that routes to the back of the case and plugs into the video card. All other cables use internal connections. With the cable management system in this case the cables can be neatly organized as well.
Step twelve. Add a second 140.4 (560) side mount with 120.4 (480) adapter rails. By default the SMA8 A Revision is included with 1 radiator side mount for the lower chamber. It can accommodate 140mm based radiators from 140-560 and 120mm based radiators from 120-480 with the adapter rails installed. This mount would typically be used opposite of the PSU. If you would like to mount an additional radiator on the PSU side then you need a second mount. The maximum radiator sizes we recommend for this area is either a 240 or 280 radiator. It may be possible to fit a 360, but you will need a short PSU and be prepared to work in a very tight space. As a side note, if you would like to take advantage of the front 120/140 fan mount with a 560 radiator then the port end of the radiator must be towards the rear of the case. Step thirteen. Add Motherboard Chamber LED Strip Mounting Kit. We created LED strip mounts for near perfect lighting (LED lighting is not included so feel free to pick the lighting you like best!). This kit consists of 2 vertical mounts that install along the left and right side of the motherboard chamber. They have been made with 2 sets of mounting points for optimal positioning. We recommend using the inside mounting points for the left side mount and the outer mounting points for the right side when using a fan mount in the flex-bay. There is only 1 mounting surface for the light, but the small extra bend blocks the view of the light strip when looking at the case from a front 3/4 perspective (like on your desk). The longer horizontal mount runs along the entire section of the mid-chassis, and has 3 different mounting surfaces for lighting (facing down, 45 degrees upwards and 180 degrees). This light mount can't be used at the same time as the luminous panel, but can instead be used at the top of the motherboard chamber closest to the door. With all of the lighting mounts used at once (including the built in mounts at the top and bottom) the case takes on a beautiful glow.
Step fourteen. Add RGB Luminous Mid-Plate Panel. The RGB Luminous Mid-Plate Panel puts on a very impressive lighting display, and was designed by Charles Harwood of Xforma. The concept for the Luminous Panel involves light uniformly emanating from the panel's top surface, illuminating components of the upper section, and creating dramatic visual contrast against the dark interior of the case. This panel is of very high quality, and was manufactured in Canada by highly skilled craftsmen. The panel is pressure fit in place with a 5cm overhang on the backside so that tubing and pass-through fittings cab be used. It is not recommended that you drill into the panel other than in the overhang. This panel is only available for cases with a standard orientation, uses a 4-pin RGB header, and requires a power source.
Step fifteen. Add a Reset Switch Retrofit Kit. includes a reset switch and new switch plate to add a reset switch under the power switch.

The best case I have a had a pleasure not only build the case but building inside of it. It goes to together so smoothly. only thing is they need to update the instruction book and they will be golden

The best just got better. The overall tankiness goes so well with the tempered glass. I also appreciate the RGB plate as well. Hope to see those option coming to Bullet line soon!

Accuracy is good, very easy to use. However, please make it easier to remove and attach the fan cover at the front of 480 radiator.

Had a lot of fun just in building up the case
Definitely keeping this case for life
It will be nice if Caselabs can provide better looking riser cables bolt on with a better design for the vertical 2 slot GPU mount
Looking forward to purchase that part
